Starving yourself to loose weight is a lose-lose proposition. By starving, your body’s metabolism will compensate by slowing down. Therefore, your rate of weight loss will actually slow down. Another potential downside to starvation is that by the time you get around to eating, you will be very hungry, you won’t be able to think rationally, and you might end up overeating or eating the wrong foods. Whereas, if you make sure to eat small portion sizes and to eat only healthy foods every 2 to 4 hours, you will have better control over your diet, and will actually be able lose weight more quickly.
