One of my neighbors who runs a small shipping company has complained for years that they are often unable to pay their bills to the creditors they work with, buy supplies and even pay for emergency repairs and things like that. Sometimes, I know they’ve even made really big personal sacrifices in order to make sure that their employees get paid, while they may not. I saw a story in the newspaper about business factoring, a process where companies can get cash by selling their invoices to another company who will make a profit by collecting those debts. My neighbors are looking into it and they seem to think it may be what they’re looking for.
